Memorial Message:
Michael died on Friday January 15, 2010 at his home in Bettendorf, Iowa. He is survived by his daughter Michaelle who was born in April of 1990. He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, antiques, cooking, coffee, drawing and painting and his cat Meng. His best friends were his two high school buddies Gil and Steve Rone and his buddy Al Schmell from the trades. He was a pipewelder and pipefitter most of his working life and even made gifts for people that he welded. He loved working with wood and drawing and painting. Over the years, he made wood toys, several paintings and the frames-some with inlaid wood. Michael could converse on almost any subject-often for hours at a time. In December of 2007 he had a stroke, but that didn't slow him down. He was recovering and working on getting back into the workforce by taking a refresher welding course at Scott Community College in Bettendorf, Iowa, but he didn't get to finish the course. Art was his favorite subject at RCHS. He loved Miss Helen Bruns.
